Nancy Zoller, has been a Colorado potter since moving to Ft. Collins in 1981, graduating from Arizona State University with a BA in Art Ed emphasizing in ceramics. She works with a white stoneware clay body usually combining wheel-throwing with hand-building techniques. Somehow, the impression of leaf always works its way into the piece, whether it is stamped, slip trailed or etched into the clay surface. The repeated pattern and graceful lines of leaves and shells never seem to grow old.
“The primary reward form me in creating a piece of pottery is the fact that my work may be integrated into someones daily life experience; at times in a quiet, private moment, sometimes as they interact with others. Pottery is to be appreciated for what it is, the roundness of a bowl, the feel of a nice mug handle, the color of a glaze next to food or drink, the beauty of a flower in a vase.”
